The Profiler by Australian author Chris Taylor is the 1st in her Munro Family series of Sydney-set murder mystery/crime thrillers with strong romantic elements, following a criminal profiler and a detective with the Australian Federal Police, this installment involving them both vs a serial killer, free courtesy of publisher LCT Productions, which basically appears to be a self-publishing "house" name.

However, this is the iTunes Featured Free Book of the Week in the Canada, US, & UK stores.

Taylor herself is a criminal lawyer, and her bio-blurb says that she has been quote-unquote the "Romance Writers of America Golden Heart Finalist in 2013. The same year, she won the Romance Writers of Australia's most prestigious award for unpublished writers, the Emerald Award.", and the series seems to have been popular enough to make it to 5 books, so perhaps you might like to give it a try.

Incidentally, the Amazon subcategory listings indicate that the romance in the novels may be multicultural in nature, if that happens to be a bonus incentive for the Gentle Reader, though I will point out that occasionally the Amazon subcategory listings get it really, really wrong.
