How to use this new feature?
In Calibre 2.2 this is one new feature:
Kindle driver: Add option to allow customization of the page number (apnx) generation algorithm based on values in a custom column. I'm interested how to use this. I'm guessing custom column refers to a custom column used for Count Pages plugin. I want to add page number for this book which is 160, for the azw3 file which I converted from epub. I downloaded the page number from Goodreads, so I want my azw3 file when reading on paperwhite to show 160 pages. Is this even possible? Or did I just completely misunderstood this new feature? |

If you hover over the options in the Kindle driver you will see hints.
Page count calculation method There are multiple ways to generate the page number information. If a page count is given then the book will be divided into that many pages. Otherwise the number of pages will be approximated using one of the following methods. Custom column name to retrieve page counts from
If you have a custom column in your library that you use to store the page count of books, you can have calibre use that information, instead of calculating a page count. Some things that you wrote just flew over my head.
First, I don't know where the Kindle driver is. So I can't hover over it, because I don't see it. Yes, I have Count Pages plugin, and a custom column called Pages where I download page count from Goodreads. Could you dumb it down on how I can set Calibre to use that information instead of calculating. I appreciate your response, but all this technical talk is not really my forte. |

With your Kindle plugged in, select the down arrow beside the Device icon and select Configure the Device.
You will see the options there. Sorry beyond that I am not a Kindle user, but I *think* even a non-technical user should be able to figure it out.... |
