default directory for save to disk

Hi,

I always save in the same directory when I use Save to disk, I'd like to know if there is a way to set it as default without the need to choose it every time.
I searched the help and the forum here but couldn't find it.

Have you tried adding the full path (with the starting at root /) to the STD template? (assumes a stable drive letter )
eg (Not Tested)
Code:
/absolute_path/to_use/{authors}-{title}
Connect to folder uses the OS to supply the Last used folder as a hint (at least it does for the SD card slot on Windows)

Ah the idea was good but unfortunately it keeps asking the directory as before.
Thanks for your prompt response , any other idea?

Nope:
BTW was the folder hinted during the 'ask' correct? Just tap 'Enter'

Not knowing what/where the target folder is :
Detachable devices can change their path stripes. Asking is safer.

Lastly. There is the CLI option, but lots of hoops to jump through to send a specific book.

@Daria - Sounds like you want to set the path in Preferences->Saving books to disk, and have it use that one automatically when you save a book until you change it? I don't see anything there or in Tweaks - you could make a request here ==>> Bugs : calibre

On Win7/NTFS/calibre 2.6 when I type 'S' on a book I'm offered the last location I saved to within and between calibre sessions - not sure about between reboots. Don't recall doing anything 'special' to make that happen.

BR

to both theducks and BetterRed:

yes the last saved folder is offered and it's the one I want to save to, but I'd like to be able to avoid this step, setting it in Preferences

I'm going to ask this feature in Bugs : calibre

Thanks!

You could set the 'Folder' device to point to this folder, and then use the 'Send to Device' option where the folder simulates a device.
