HI,
I use the Kobo OS on mini, when explore the website or Chinese book name in book menu or translation with english to Chinese, sometime there is lacking Chinese one or some characters. How to do? I think this is a system font problem. see attached screenshot. Another problem: Sometime see one Epub file, the mini only display directory menu ,font setup and so on,but not display content. Tap screen to turn page, exit book,Home menu display finished the book. Why? i have tried some times, until rename the book, try it, some time it is ok,some time the same problem. Some guy tell me how to repair the problem. Thanks a lot. ![]() Last edited by Jellby; 09-01-2014 at 03:25 AM. Reason: normal font size, please |

I think this has something to do more with the Chinese characters that are encoded on the Kobo. Japanese works really well, so I'm assuming that not all Chinese characters are in the device, and are just using the Jouyou Kanji.
Does your Kobo have a Chinese language in the settings? |

Hi,
I have had the same problem I think since firmware 3.5. Before that all my chinese book names displayed well in the collection list and in the booklist. Now, some of them are squares. I guess there was a change somewhere in the fonts. The other possibility is that there are some traditional / simplified differences. Still checking. Regards François |

Updated the English to Chinse Traditional Character Directory on KOBO OS.

Hi,
Similar problem, displaying traditional chinese is OK, but simplified characters are missing... no solution working for me, but https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=245619 talks about a possible solution. Hope this helps. François |
