Maybe use it as the power switch, and get rid of the current power switch.
I hate the Kobo power "slide" switch! I find I have to use a corner of my thumbnail to slide it, which is really awkward and to my mind this is the single worst bit of the Kobo hardware design. |

![]() I really don't change the light level very often or even turn it on and off independent of the device, but one downfall I can see some people having with the H2O is going to be no on/off button. Yes you can slide it (likely to zero) but then you have to find the brightness level you want again rather than just turn it off and have it come back to the same level when you turn it back on. |

Long press: Toggle inverse video / night-mode (using the night-mode hack)
Short press: Screen shot. |

Yeah, I instantly thought "screenshot" too, now that the newer firmware seems to always return the light back to on when you disconnect from the PC. And the worst that happens is you can't turn the light on or off if ever needed until you change the file. Much better than losing the power button in case you ever need it for a factory reset.
And I like RobertJSawyer's idea about a different function for long and short press, that would be perfect. |
