@u238110 - See Preferences->Tweaks->Control how dates are displayed

Date is the date you added the 'book' to your calibre library

Published is the date the 'book' was published, its common to only have a month and year.

Thanks. It's misleading for Calibre to include both those date inputs in the same section; right on top of each other; and for the "date added to Calibre" to even be readily editable at all (there's rarely a situation where you would want to change that).

All that is different is the defaults for each Date Display Format

You can override those using the appropriate section of Preferences: Tweaks

(I deliberately did not tell you exactly which one, hoping you will read each description and spot others of interest ) Keyword: Date, display
