What difference Device A and B?
Device: Asus TF300T
Android: 4.2.1 CC: Latest from store While testing CC to see where I can put books, I have sent books to both A and B from the Calibre menu, assuming I could differentiate between... (Device) storage/sdcard0 and sdcard1. Books are stored under sdcard0 in both cases despite both being listed on the device. (Device) storage/emulated only shows /emulated0 and not 1. There is something I clearly do not understand, will somebody please put me right. |

You specify where CC stores books using the "Formats and Folders" option on the "Settings" menu.

Sorry, but I do not understand the question. When CC is connected, calibre enables only "Main Memory". What are "A" and "B", and where are you seeing them? Are you using a cable?

@chaley
Calibre 1.42 64b Thank you for replying. I am wireless connected. In Calibre - Send to Device - Set Default Send to Device Action. There are then two places where Send to storage card A ...B occurs. |

On most Android tablets, the internal storage will be called something like "/mnt/sdcard", and the external SD card will be "/mnt/extsd". |

(cross post with HarryT. Sorry about the duplication.)
Ahh, OK. Calibre does not condition setting the defaults based on what the current device can do. Perhaps it should, but I don't know the consequences of such a change. I will look at it. However, for CC (and any other device that doesn't have external storage) setting the default to anything except main memory is ignored because there is no A or B, as shown by those choices being greyed out in the top of the send-to-device drop down menu. You cannot actually send anything to the non-existent locations. |

@HarryT
Thanks for replies. I understand what you say, however, without such specific knowledge, I acted as a Newbie would (I think) and when looking at the menu as I have described regarding sending books, I deduced (intuition) that the items were there for a purpose so I used them and observed the outcome. When the outcome was not as intuition told me I should expect, I delved into the storage path issue (hence my other post) and ended up where I am. Perhaps in light of my new found knowledge the question should be why are those items on the menu of Calibre? |

I have now also cross posted with HarryT Thank you for that explanation which is now perfectly clear. I can now get on with using the app. |
