T68 Touchscreen issues?
Howdy.
I was wondering if there are any more of you that are experiencing touchscreen issues with their T68. I have "show touches" turned on in the developer options and notice a lot of the touches jump as high as 0.5-1cm away from the actual touch point. Sometimes touches dont even register. Seems like the lynx received an update re:touchscreen issues, not sure if this is the same thing. Is the touch not capacitive? I've never had this problem on a capacitive touchscreen device. //edit: ah right, forgot to add - I have the booxtor version... Last edited by Domen Lo; 07-15-2014 at 08:21 AM. |

AFAIK the touch screen is capacitive.
From my limited experience, I think the precision is app dependent. If I click on one of my folders in my NAS shares I find the precision very good. Usually in the main screen and app drawer precision seems ok, if at times a bit wanting. Clicking on the install button in Google Play Store for example I also find that it is difficult at times to hit the right place on the screen. highlighting a word for the dictionary, it seems difficult to hit the right word/the right line. The various reviews on YouTube of the T68 mention these issues as well. Did you apply the update from Booxstor? I don't know if it makes a difference since I have not been able to find a changelog for the update. I'm on the Booxstor version as well. |

That's weird, it shouldn't be app-specific, since it's handled on the os-level. if you go into apps-settings-developer options-show touches you can see how it handles them (where it thinks they're made).
I haven't. Ill apply it, haven't so far since it said to just rename a reader app. |

To me it's an app thing, because I've tested different apps and the response it's different.
For example, one that works very well it's Coolreader. |

Well that was fun. After applying the update the device is bricked. Guess I should speak to support.

Hopefully you applied the Booxstor update, not the Lynx one?......

Well yes. And now I'm stuck looking at the onyx logo. Which is nice and all, but that is one expensive onyx logo to have on my desk.

<offtopic>
Device recovered & wiped using proposed method. </offtopic> <ontopic> It updated the device to 2014-07-15_20-23_1.6.0_252635f, touchscreen functionality seems to be unaffected. </ontopic> |

I have applied Booxtor update and for me the touch issue is not app dependent.
I use cool reader and double clicking in a word to look up it in the dictionary is usually a matter of at least two tries. In the lower part of the screen the issue seems to be larger.... I hope is not a hardware issue and can be fixed. |

This in your video reported behavior seems to affect actually all T68 series.
Don't worry, we figure out a solution. Since I just read novels on this device (for work I use M96) and for me touch screen controll of the device seemed to work just fine, I just did not notice any inaccuracy during my tests. However I did the same as you a week ago and discovered, that actual touch point position is always slightly different of the from device registered position, which is not good. Now improving of touch screen accuracy is currently at highest priority. Lynx update would not change anything on your device in this regard (would also not work) - we use same sources. It still must be improved. |

Perhaps you could also add the possibility for the home button to be a home button? Nate H also mentioned this in his review. Just a toggle/switch/option for regular android users that keep clicking the light toggle but wish to see the home screen ![]() |

The latest system update for the Lynx has significantly improved touchscreen accuracy.

My pointing skills seem to have improved by quite a margin. All my dictionary queries hit the right word in first attempt today.
