New install of CC and old default folder?

I change ROMs every so often. This means I'll have reinstalled Calibre Companion, but there is still a complete "default folder" on my sdrive.
Is there a way to get CC to simply accept that folder?

BTW, yes, I can simply backup CC app and data with Titanium Backup on the old ROM, then restore app and data on the new ROM. Given Android architecture this should be safe - I'd just like to know if there's a different way.
Thanks!

Unfortunately no. CC stores all the metadata in its database, which disappears when it is uninstalled. The metadata in the books is highly suspect and cannot be used, even if it is available, so CC must get new metadata from calibre.

The backup/restore should work just fine. If it doesn't, I would really like to know.

I have considered adding a metadata backup facility to CC for those that don't root their devices. There are some issues with consistency to overcome, as well as how and when the user asks for it, and what to do if the backup file is tampered with (which I can guarantee will happen). I need to find the time to look at this.

Titanium backup works. cc need not download books with metadata to folder specified by me. Just restoring would show up books in cc as it was earlier. Thanks for the info
