New Version Of Epub

Just seen something odd in Calibre.

I had some epubs on my NAS box, some new ones and some better versions of existing ones.

Adding the new ones to Calibre by dragging and dropping was fine; however I could not update the replacements by dragging and dropping at all.

I could only update the books by dragging the files locally (to the desktop) then dropping them onto Calibre from there.

Something wrong with UNC path handling in the replace epub code, perhaps?

Works the same way on W7 from a windows shared drive.
New directory
Replace must be via a local folder (desktop is a folder )

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I do replace via a networked drive and it works no problem.

Then, there has to be some sort of configuration issue, because I don't see why it is doing this.

New, I can drag and drop from a (XP) network drive.
Update, I always have to drop to a local drive first

Could this be the difference between having a drive mapped and simply navigating to the share via the network portion of the file explorer?

It probably is, calibre does not in general support unc paths at all, so I wouldn't be surprised if drag and drop with unc paths fails.

Most of the network drives I use with Calibre I do have mapped as a drive letter. But one I do not and that's the one that stores the eBooks downloaded by ADE and Kindle for PC. That one is not mapped to a drive letter and it works perfectly well with Calibre.
