An observation on publishing data

Calibre's format for a book's publishing date is by default, 'MMM yyyy'

and overrideable with "gui_pubdate_display_format = ..."


That scheme is perfectly adequate for conventional books, but not completely adequate for a mix of books and newspaper articles, the latter having a specific publishing date (and the former not often).


My database includes both types of publications ...
