This link editor is a nice feature. Would it be possible to use some of the text the anchor refers to instead of or in addition to the generated id strings? It would make it much faster to match them up.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean? Youa re talking about the insert hyperlink button?

Yes. That is what I mean. Sorry if I was unclear. The TOC generator makes long id strings which have to be looked up.

That is what I am asking, though I know there will be space limitations. I don't know that I need the actual link id contents, but there probably is a chance of duplication if someone puts in a series of click heres. Just enough so I can distinguish chapter 1 from chapter 2 or one subhead from another.

One other thing occurred to me, which is related. Can there be an update anchors button? This would cause the program to search for all anchors, not just those which are created as part of the TOC process. These additional anchors might be created to link to pictures and so on. That way these would appear in the list as well.
I put in an anchor and checked book, to try to refresh it so to speak, but it did not make the anchor appear on the list.

Re-running the dialog (i.e. closing it and opening it) should make the anchors appear. Make sure you are using id=... and not name=...

If you have a book for which that is not True, attach it.

I will look into adding the text, there si a space constraint, I'm not sure what the best way to implement it is yet. Perhaps display the text when hovering over the entry or make the list items multiline. I will have to think about it.

Thanks for considering it. I think that in Sigil they made the box rather large to implement it.

I will check that out and attach it. It used to have name, but I thought I fixed it, so I will have to check.
