Calibre 1.22 Update
This is my first post on this forum and I have been using Calibre v0.9.7 for sometime and have tried to update to v1.22, but after installation of 1.22 Calibre still shows it is v0.9.7.
How do I overcome this problem? Will appreciate any help on this!

Do the update correctly for your OS

Common blockages:
Calibre (or the content server) was running
UAC did not receive the proper permissions
Antivirus interference
corrupted or wrong OS version download
Failure to run the installer after it was downloaded (calibre does NOT auto run updates).

Perhaps you installed a different variant - there are 3 variants for Windows - 32bit, 64bit and Portable. All three can be installed, any one of them can be executed on the same system, at any one point in time.

So you may have been running 0.9.7 32bit, now you've installed 1.22 64 bit , but you're clicking on a shortcut that refers to the 32bit variant.

I solved my problem by uninstalling previous version and installing new version!

Thanks for all your responses.
Glad it worked, but you shouldn't have to do that (at least in windows.) As mentioned above, something was likely blocking the upgrade.
