Kindle for iPad now shows my 300+ deleted books

Hi y'all and Happy Holidays!

I don't usually use my iPad to read Kindle books, but tried it out the other day, and noticed that it now shows my 300+ French free classics I moved to my trashcan a while back via yourmedialibrary. I had called Amazon asking them to just delete my trashcan on the backend, which they claimed cannot be done, since I may want to get those books back, so not making deletion possible is a service to customers.
Now that they are all showing up pn the iPad again, I emailed them again through the in-app contact form.

Just wondering: has anyone else noticed that? If so, and if it bothers you, could you please send them feedback? I asked, again, for tags, a better web interface to create collections, and the ability to completely delete books from accounts.
I have well over 1000 books, and sorting through them all is becoming more and more of a nightmare. Since I can't batch import them into Calibre, I am still working little by little to get them all over in it, but one of the strengths of Kindle is whispersync, so the cloud should work on its own IMO. I have a ton of gadgets that should, in theory, profit from whispersync.

I tried using Your Media Library one time and found it so utterly useless that I never went back to it. I tried deleting the dozens of foreign dictionaries that clutter my lists but that I will never use. It wouldn't delete them. They cannot be deleted from the Manage Your Kindle page either. Personally I'm inclined to think that Amazon Kindle developers and managers do NOT understand books, libraries, or even reading. They seem to be clueless, and my patience is nearly gone with them.

BTW, I've switched to my iPad Mini Retina as my main reader now and gifted my crappy PW2 to a friend. No more eInk readers for me. They are a waste of my money and my time.

Use Manage Your Kindle to permanently delete books or docs from your library (except of course for dictionaries that come with the Kindle).

I've no idea why Your Media Library doesn't work for this purpose, it would be nice if it did as MYK does not let you select more than one item to delete at a time.

The customer service representative you engaged seems to have been a little ignorant or they would have directed you to MYK.

Jack, if you have "dozens of foreign dictionaries" in your MYK page, you must have added them yourself, and hence you should be able to delete them. The Kindle doesn't come with dozens of dictionaries.

My PW2 arrived and I ended up with a ton of dictionaries that I did not add. Trust me, I cannot even read the characters for the dictionary. I think that they are added to your Kindle Library when you buy a PW2.

They are indeed, but there's about 10 of them, not dozens.

11 Dictionaries and 11 Kindle users guide in a foreign language. I can't delete any of them. I don't need the users guide in Chinese.

Just saying

If you contact Kindle CS they can remove them for you, but be sure that you really don't want them, because once they're gone, they're gone.

It comes with one for each language supported by the Kindle, including 2 for English. By my count, there are currently 13. But presumably there will be more of them over time as localizations for additional languages are available.

So while there are not 'dozens' now, there could be at some point. I don't see any purpose in deleting them, however.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying to Jack - that if he has dozens, he should be able to delete the ones he's added beyond the standard Amazon ones.

I despair of trying to delete anything from amazon cloud since there is no mark all / delete all button. I just let them pile on. I guess amazon doesn't care because they have more storage than god and all my books don't amount to a drop in the bucket.

I was easily able to delete the Amazon-supplied free Kindle Dictionaries (and User Guides) from MYK. The problem is, every time you deregister and reregister, they come back...

Thus proving, by the way, that they are NOT gone forever.

And someone suggested in another thread the following bookmarklets for bulk deleting from MYK:

No Harry, I haven't added any foreign dictionaries. I have at least two dozen plus a bunch of user guides in various languages because I've purchased several Kindles over the past few years. I got a bunch of dictionaries with the Touch, again with the PW1, and again with the PW2. Okay some might be user guides since I cannot read whatever language they are in. And trying to sort those suckers is a joke since many don't use a Latin based alphabet.

The last time I tried to delete them they came right back the very next time I loaded the MYK page. I would like to get rid of them as they clutter up my MYK page, which is slow enough without all those extra books I will NEVER use.

So sad you left us einkers, Jack!! I settled on a not so bad PW2, but miss my own on-device fonts.
