Unhappy Calibre doesn't find library after new Inst.

After a computer crash I had to reinstall everything. When I tell Calibre where to look for my library, it opens it (name of library appears in upper left corner) but it's empty.
The books are all there, but Calibre shows only the Quick-Start Guide.
What to do?

Is the metadata.db file there? That is the database that should be at the top level of any Calibre library and holds all the metadata as well as telling Calibre what books should be thee.

If the metadata.db isn't there, and you don't have it backed up, say, in dropbox to restore, you can either create a new library and import (using the second option in the add books dropdown) or else under library maintenance you can try Restore Database, which should register all book folders there.
