Display cover on main window

How can I get the book summary to display along with the metadata in the main window? After I updated my operating system to windows 8.1 and had to reinstall Calibre, I found that as I scroll through my list of books I no longer way the synopsis. That I could see only if I wend into Edit Metadata mode. I can't find anything in Preferences. What am I missing? I'd sure appreciate some help.

The button in the lower right that looks like a book.

Want more screen space? Try taping 'I' on the selected book instead.

Hitting the book button takes the cover completely off the screen, while the tapping I shows the synopsis I want, but hides all the other info on the main screen. I don't have any screen shots to support this, but I'd swear I used to it all on the same screen. If the synopsis extended off screen it could readily be scrolled. The cursor key would let me scroll through all my books seeing all I needed. Am I imagining that?

Under Preferences ==> Interface ==> Look and Feel choose the Book Details tab. Make sure the Comments field is checked.

This is where you control the metadata that appears in the Book Details sidebar.
