Kobo Touch the shelf information isn't uploaded
I'm using a Kobo Touch, and since the update to 1.90, when I upload books to the device, the shelf information isn't uploaded. Some of the shelves are created by me, ie "My shelves", and some are by book series. Neither are showing with newly uploaded books.

Hope that makes sense? Thanks!

Could you check the "Metadata management" setting on the "Sending books to devices" page of the preferences? It needs to be set to automatic.

In that case, can I see a debug log? To do this:

- Right click the preferences button in calibre.
- Choose ""Restart in debug mode" from the menu.
- Calibre will close and restart. When it restarts, it wil show a message about debug mode.
- Connect the Touch and let calibre sync.
- Send a book that should get put onto a shelf.
- When the jobs have finished, close calibre.
- The debug log will be displayed. Post the contents of the log or PM it to me.

That line is the options that are being used. You don't have a series column set and the create shelves option is not selected. As later lines show that you are using the extended driver, my guess is that you have configured the options for the main driver, but not for the extended driver. The configuration for each driver is separate. I would suggest you do the configuration while the device is connected. That will make sure you configure the driver you are using. While it is connected, right click on the device button and select "Configure this device". Then set the option and press OK. You will be prompted to restart the calibre for the options to take affect.

Worked a treat, thank you! I also had to re-add "my shelves, series" to the tag information on the device, and the plugin. After that, it works perfectly again. Any idea what would have caused the information to have disappeared? As I said in the original post, it was working fine in the previous version (1.8), and only vanished when I upgraded to 1.9. Previous Calibre updates have never lost the info?

Many thanks again for your help.. With the best part of 1700 books on my Kobo, functioning shelves are a must!

Glad it is working. I don't know why the configuration disappeared. The most common reason I have seen is that the main driver had been configured and used for a while and then the extended driver installed but not configured. I don't think the update to calibre or to the extended driver should have cleared the settings.
