Where are Searches stored?
I Have both 64-bit and Portable versions installed. I can created and delete searches in either version and the other sees the changes.
But the Portable version is supposed to be self-contained. When I installed it I had to copy the settings over. But I lost the searches in both versions. |

Saved searches are stored in the library where they were defined, specifically in the "preferences" table in metadata.db file.

You should have lost the whole 'Library' (the Metadata) in that case. Chaley is saying 'The Saved search is part of the Library, so if you copied the Libray folder, it is good to go. If you rebuilt the library from the backup metadata, then the results you got would be true: only books |

I didn't copy and paste the folder(s), I used calibre to move the contents from one library to the other. Didn't think of copying the folder!!

That copies selected Books into another established library (normally, you would NOT want it to mess with those settings) There is a Create Library With the same Structure. I believe that will also NOT copy searches, only columns and column settings |

I already had 64-bit version installed. It was giving problems (solved in another thread) so I tried the Portable version. Used Copy to Library to get the existing library into the Personal Library. Did exactly what I wanted, except for the searches. (Three trivial ones, so no problem.)
