				Nexus 7 or....?

I am in the market to buy two new tablets and am leaning toward the Nexus 7, currently $175.00 at Amazon. Any thoughts or recommendations for alternattives? TIA

If you do get a Nexus 7, make sure you get the 2013 version and not the 2012. A lot of people have had problems with the 2012 version and the Lollipop upgrade.

The 2013 Nexus 7 is an excellent tablet. I have one, and am very happy with it.

Yup, 2013 version (not that the 2012 is bad, i own one, but it's a bit outdated.) Nvidia shield might be worth looking at as well. |

Thanks. Just checking to see if they are still supported. They've been discontinued for quite some time. I believe Amazon is the only place to find them now.

The Nexus 7 2013 version is great. The screen is awesome and it pretty much handled anything I threw at it.

is the older version better than the new one? as I remember: samsung often used cheaper hardware in the second edition (galaxy s2), but does Google the same?

The 2nd Edition (2013) Nexus 7 is better in every way than the first. Faster, better screen, just better all around.
