Newbie introduction

My name is Saskia and I am addicted to reading...

(admitting you have a problem is usually the first step, right? )

My nickname is de name of my all-time favourite bookcharacter.

I am always reading and my house just isn't big enough to store enough books to keep up with this addiction. I have limited myself to buying 2 "real" books a month, and all the rest has to be digital...

I work as an information manager/archivist and I live alone with my two cats. The few moments I am not working or reading are spent writing postcards (I am also addicted to postcrossing..) and geocaching.

I am not very lucky when it comes to e-readers... I have managed to kill two of them (a Sony and a Kindle), but things between me and my Kobo Glo have been great until now, so I have good hopes for the future ;-)

Right before my holiday I already asked a technical question in one of the threads, but never found the time to properly introduce myself... But now that is out of the way, I guess you might see more of me :-D

Hi Saskia and welcome to MobileRead. If you are addicted to books you are among friends here. But forget about the twelve steps. We've tried that before but by about Step 3 we forget what we were supposed to be doing and start reading.

I also found out that reading a self-help book is not the best way to kill a book-addiction.....

I am glad I am among like minded people here.... that way I do not have to explain why I get nervous when I am on a train without something to read or prove that it is not dangerous at all to ride a bike and read a book at the same time...

I used to swim laps for fitness but gave it up for the Elliptical Trainer because I couldn't figure out how to swim and read at the same time.

Am I the only one who prefers taking a bath instead of a shower so I can keep reading?

Since I moved to this place in April, I no longer have a bath.... I am working my way through audiobooks while showering...but it just isn't the same....
