Calibre Showing Covers, not Records... can't switch back
The problem: was working on trying to get bug information on some pdf conversions, and the calibre window that normally is populated with all the records in the database (or the subset of those I've searched for) now is populated with the covers.
I can't figure out how to switch back to a record view of my database. Changing the search, quitting and restarting, configuring preferences for the "View Manager" plugin... so far nothing works. Searching the online manual and google, all the results seem to be referencing "view" as in "view the book" not "view" as in "calibre database view settings". Would appreciate any help, thanks! M- edit: Found my own answer: there's a button down at the bottom right of the Calibre window, right next to the "Jobs:..." running indicator, that changes from the record view to what I guess is the cover browser. Never saw it, never knew it, never used it before. Interesting... would suggest that some language about it get added to the manual (unless my desire to find "view" related topics blockheaded me out of finding this) Last edited by Merischino; 08-12-2013 at 12:17 PM. |

Do you have [newdb] next to version number in the status line - if is so then see https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=218937 - you can read all about it there - if you don't then very odd.
To get the new database back end (which is in test) you must have applied the tweak to turn it on. I imagine the official manual will be updated until when the new features are officially released. BR |

Trying to fix a separate issue yesterday, (colossally slow, crashing, and failing pdf conversions) I tried switching to the beta new db just to see if it had any impact on my issue. Didn't think to check the beta manual for the cover "grid" issue. Thanks for clarifying that! M- |
