Glo Calibre and where it places files

I only use Calibre to side load all my books, but the one thing I don't like is that all the author directories are in Kobo's root, so it's hard weeding through the Kobo files and your own additions.

Is there any way I can tell Calibre to put all books into another directory other than root, such as Books\author name directories?

The location is completely configurable. Open the driver options. Part way down is a field labelled "Save Template". Change that to whatever you want. The default is "{author_sort}/{title} - {authors}". Adding a directory name to the start of that will probably do what you want. If the directory doesn't exist, it will be created the first time you send a book.

Thank you! When looking around I saw that spot and I was going to try it there but then I thought Calibre might only accept entries that match its columns and decided to ask first. I'll give that a try.

This is the template I use:

Code:

{author_sort[0]}/{author_sort:list_item(0,\,)}, {title}

This way the only directories off the root directory are the letters A-Z. As an example, The Price of Spring by Daniel Abraham would be filed as

Code:

A/Abraham, The Price of Spring.epub
