Those of you who lived close enough to a Borders store can you tell what has happened? Are they empty shells? Has anything book related moved in? WholeFoods? McDonald's? Are they tearing down the buildings?

The ones I pass are empty. I did read recently that the one that was in Highland Park is going to be an Akira (clothing store). The one in Highland Park has been closed much longer than the others.

Our Borders became a store that sells these weird rugs with logos like Ohio State's and Michigan's logos. They're pretty ugly to me but I guess there is a market for them.
