Is there a way around the country specific restrictions for the Kindle Touch?
Amazon won't let me buy the KT apps, like chess, calculator, notepad, etc
Is there a hack for this? |

Add a new valid address in US on your account, and change country setting on Manage Your Kindle and choose your new US address. For US address, you need a complete address include postcode and phone number, you can use your friend address, office or even hotel address.
@lumanz: no need proxy. |

Look up remailing services in Las Vegas, Neveda for a valid US address.

Las Vegas has a lot of very relaxed laws (besides gambling) that include other common legal vices, such as "the oldest profession", and relaxed business laws that make it a popular home (empty offices) for some questionable businesses. Remailing services are popular for "shady outfits" and "fly-by-night" companies, so there are a lot more remailing services located there.
The purpose of a remailing service is that it gives you a "normal" address that can be used to receive packages and mail that cannot be shipped to a Post Office Box (P.O. address). Then they repackage your mail and ship it to you anywhere in the world. Or, in the case of amazon, it makes you look to them like you live in the USA. The scary thing is that I know, and I am pretty sure that you have knowledge of how easy it is to use software like Asterisk to run your phone center and that right there in the software is a setting for what you want to show on the caller ID. She still gets calls from them, even after explaining to them that she knew what they were doing. She occasionally blocks the number and they spin a new one within a few weeks. She doesn't really care. Just an interesting note on the Las Vegas thing. |
