Inbuilt 3G Internet connection cost?
Having just heard I can't directly transfer ebooks purchased on an iPhone to a kindle I'm thinking I will probably choose a 3G kindle. I've heard some discussions that apart from the initial purchase price there is no ongoing cost for the 3G? I would have thought tou would have to have an internet provider account - much like how i get charged each month for the data download ob my phone each month? Can anyone else in Australia tell me if this is true or not. Cheers all

It's true that there is no monthly charge.
What Amazon has done in some countries (where they don't have contracts with a provider and rely on roaming, or so my understanding goes) is add a surcharge of $2.00? to all book purchased by folks from that country. We have plenty of Australian members so I'm sure one of them will know if that applies to customers there or not. |
