Touch and the date of Periodicals
Hi Everybody,
I'm very happy that Amazon fixed the problem with periodicals not coming through as periodicals with the Kindle touch (with 5.0.3 firmware). I'm seeing another problem now, though. When a periodical is e-mailed from calibre, I see "calibre" where the date usually is, and the Touch is not archiving the articles. When I sideload them, they get the date and archiving works. Are other people seeing this problem? Any suggestions for how to resolve? Many thanks, David |

That implies that while 5.0.3 is able to use the periodical TOC correctly, it still isn't recognizing the document as a periodical. Recent calibre versions have the ability to use metadata plugboards with email. You can use that to add the date to either the title or author fields as aworkaround. Archiving still wont work, however.
