1) Eventually charge the reader (to be on the save side). Connect the reader with the PC. What happens? After (at least) a couple of minutes "something" should appear on the screen.
2) Try switching on once more 3) Make a hard reset with the pinhole. After pushing with something like a tooth stick switch on the reader like you would do normally A. |

Thank you, for the quick reply. The reader has been charging over two hours with the ac adptor until the red light went off. When I connect the reader to the pc remains the same, blinking yellow light, screen blank and is not recognized by the pc. I tried reset it but nothing happens. Any ideas?

Sorry, I have to give up...
Concerning "reset": When you reset the reader, nothing seems to happen. That's normal. Man has to switch it on after pushing the reset-button (pinhole). But for me, after your description, the reader seems to be dead. Last thing is a "factory restore": http://www.factory-reset.com/wiki/PRS-350 A. |

I have this exact issue with my prs-350.
It was fully charged on Tuesday, worked fine on Wednesday, I did not use it on Thursday, and on Friday (today), the screen is blank, the amber light is flashing, and the computer does not see it when connected. I was able to fully charge it again with an AC adapter - I got it to go to a steady red light by pressing the reset pinhole and plugging in the AC. The light turned off after about an hour. Tried a regular reset again; after I press the reset pinhole for 5 seconds and turn on the power, the amber light blinks but the screen never comes on. With no display, I can't do a factory reset either. ![]() The up side is it is still under warranty and eligible for an exchange. I really want to erase the contents before sending it away, though I don't see how that's possible if the computer won't recognize it. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks! |

Before you try anything like resets, connecting to computers etc, you should ensure a full charge by charging for at least 4-6 hours, preferably with an AC power unit... even under normal circumstances the red light goes off at 80% charge so it doesn't hurt to ensure a full charge before trying soft and hard resets... flashing amber indicates reader is accessing file system internally... good luck.

Thanks elcreative, I'll plug it into the AC charger & leave it overnight, maybe better luck tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I'm off to Best Buy to get myself an early Christmas present (prs-t1, woot!) so I can at least finish my current book. :-P |

Sadly, no change after charging all night on AC.
If the amber flashing light means it's accessing the file system then it's accessing it quite a lot. I think I'll let it keep doing that until the battery completely discharges & try again. |
