1) Eventually charge the reader (to be on the save side). Connect the reader with the PC. What happens? After (at least) a couple of minutes "something" should appear on the screen.

2) Try switching on once more

3) Make a hard reset with the pinhole. After pushing with something like a tooth stick switch on the reader like you would do normally

Thank you, for the quick reply. The reader has been charging over two hours with the ac adptor until the red light went off. When I connect the reader to the pc remains the same, blinking yellow light, screen blank and is not recognized by the pc. I tried reset it but nothing happens. Any ideas?

Sorry, I have to give up...

Concerning "reset":
When you reset the reader, nothing seems to happen. That's normal. Man has to switch it on after pushing the reset-button (pinhole). But for me, after your description, the reader seems to be dead.

Last thing is a "factory restore":

I have this exact issue with my prs-350.

It was fully charged on Tuesday, worked fine on Wednesday, I did not use it on Thursday, and on Friday (today), the screen is blank, the amber light is flashing, and the computer does not see it when connected.

I was able to fully charge it again with an AC adapter - I got it to go to a steady red light by pressing the reset pinhole and plugging in the AC. The light turned off after about an hour. Tried a regular reset again; after I press the reset pinhole for 5 seconds and turn on the power, the amber light blinks but the screen never comes on. With no display, I can't do a factory reset either.

The up side is it is still under warranty and eligible for an exchange. I really want to erase the contents before sending it away, though I don't see how that's possible if the computer won't recognize it.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks!

Before you try anything like resets, connecting to computers etc, you should ensure a full charge by charging for at least 4-6 hours, preferably with an AC power unit... even under normal circumstances the red light goes off at 80% charge so it doesn't hurt to ensure a full charge before trying soft and hard resets... flashing amber indicates reader is accessing file system internally... good luck.

Thanks elcreative, I'll plug it into the AC charger & leave it overnight, maybe better luck tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I'm off to Best Buy to get myself an early Christmas present (prs-t1, woot!) so I can at least finish my current book. :-P

Sadly, no change after charging all night on AC.

If the amber flashing light means it's accessing the file system then it's accessing it quite a lot. I think I'll let it keep doing that until the battery completely discharges & try again.
