PRS-T1 problems/questions list

1. Landscape mode doesn't allow handwriting annotation in the fit-to-width or cropped mode.
2. Pinch-n-zoom can only give very limited zoom effect. Seems the zoom is limited by certain system-set (not very high) upper limit.
3. Once you turn on the reflow for a PDF, there is no way to turn it off.
4. ...

Do you own this or are you just gathering and collating reported problems? (serious question)

Of course I own this but just thought it might be useful to have a list of "to-be-improvement" or pro/cons.

How about the "can't delete downloaded books from your computer with the new software", reported elsewhere ?

Is there a way to display both the time on the top left and the wifi/battery on the right on the home screen?

currently at default i only see the wifi / battery status on the right. pressing the menu button (right-most button) will bring up the time and hide the wifi / battery for a few seconds before going back again.

I think that's the only way to display time -- I was looking for this also and doesn't seem to be any option except pressing menu key.

I am having some trouble after connecting my T1 to my Mac and the Reader software. Everything works okay but I don't see how to disconnect my Reader. If I eject the Disk images mounted the Reader software tries to reconnect it. If I shut down the Reader software and then eject the disk images, I have had the Reader hang up.

The older Reader Library software had an Eject button but I can't see where the new software does.

Dynabook if you click on the Reader tab of the new software there is a Sync button tab. From there you can disconnect it. There's two buttons - one is to Sync and the other is to Disconect.

I miss being able to press the option button and see the time while you are reading a book. Now to the see the time you have to press the menu button when you are on the home page.

You can press the status bar to see various options. Pressing the status bar only works if you have notifications. It would be nice if it opened up the other options even if you have no notifications.

I got my PRS-T1 today - first Sony reader. I've been a Kindle user. Here's two things I noticed, (1) Loading of books is slow, it takes more than 10 seconds. (2) Search is very very slow. Takes anywhere from 0 to 20 or 30 seconds, depending on which page it finds the word. Is this normal ? On Kindle, these functions are almost instantaneous. I tried both devices side by side. Thanks.

Edit: The books that came preloaded loads (and search is also) pretty fast. I think this may have to do with the fact the I added the books to sd card ?

Are you looking at your book lists using book covers or text? If covers, the first time a book is added and viewed in the list, it takes a moment to generate a thumbnail cover. After that it is much faster, and even faster if you view your lists as text.

Another step backward, along with the audio display.

I don't wear a watch, and don't turn on my phone in flight, so the time feature on my 650 has been terrific on planes!

i've had it not respond a couple of times...once the touch screen froze and had to do a hard reset. i wonder if it wasn't one of the fonts i was using...had no problem until i changed fonts.
