Cannot see the Document and the other folders when I connect kindle to a computer

Earlier, when I connected my kindle to my PC i was able to see the three folders (documents, audibles etc) that came with kindle. But now I am not able to see them.
I use calibre for managing the books in my kindle. I am able to copy a book to kindle using calibre (Right click on book name -> Send to main memory) and read it.
One confusing thing is that I am able to see the calibre metadata file (calibre.metadata) but I am not able to see only the kindle folders.
I tried "Show hidden file" in windows.
I tried restarting the kindle by holding on the switch for 20 secs but still nothing.
Anybody else have seen this issue...??
My calibre version is 0.7.45.

Hi spiketide

I assume your Kindle still working properly? If so, try unchecking 'hide protected operating system files' (found in Folder Options) and see if that helps.
