Is there a trick to getting ADE to recognized my PRS-T1

tried the front and back USB ports...the computer recognizes it but not ADE. Already authorized and deauthorized the computer and back again. Also, the Sony Reader software doesn't seem to like my ADE username/pass even though they work fine when logging into ADE.

I'm having the same problem. When I get home I will try with the new software for PC or Mac. But That means it is not going into my Reader Library. I am confused & trying to figure it out. If I can't then I'm calling Sony Support.

i've done this before with sony reader, never had this kind of problem....i'm guessing i might have to figure out how to deauthorize my old settings under sony reader (2009) which might be causing some problems. I guess since the last time i've used the sony reader softare they've struck a deal with ADE to add to the confusion of getting authorized.

Hopefully this isn't a widespread issue. I see that the PRS-T1 is a supported device on the Adobe page of supported devices .

I had no trouble buying from the Reader Store with my T1 & it going to the reader, but did have trouble when I tried side loading from Books On Board. It went to the Reader Library but Reader Library did not recognize my T1. It just said error where the reader would appear in the left column. So I had to load it on to the T1 from my computer.

I will look into it closer tonight.

everything account related in regards to the sony reader SHOULD be able to be handled without calling their 877 number. They should at least give you the ability to deauthorize computers and allow you to see what ADE account is tied into your sony reader account, in case a person has multiple ADE accounts.

well the trick is in calling sony and having them flush out my old computer authorization from 2009 and telling me what ADE email address was tied to my sony reader pc software.

Can you run the T1 alongside your 6/350 , or do you have to create a whole new Sony/Adobe identity?

And will they then recognise it ?

no idea if that would work...the software doesn't really seem that intelligent.

No you do not have to create a whole new Adobe account but the T1 is not recognized by the old Reader Library. I haven't hooked up the 350 to the new Reader for PC yet. I'm trying to get used to the new software. I'm not liking it so far but then I'm cranky today so who knows. lol

For a given Sony account, you have one Adobe account attached to it. Any devices attached to the Sony account will share the same Adobe account.

I currently have a 950, 650, and T1 all on the same account working fine. If anything, I need a 'deauthorize all' button, as I have stuff floating around from way too far back (old PCs).

PRS-T1 needs the new Reader software

I bought my PRS-T1 yesterday from Target and could not get the reader to appear in the Reader Library software. The issue was the software- I had an older PRS-300 which used the "Reader Library" software. The PRS-T1 uses the new "Reader for PC" software available here.

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/mod...OC=3#/howtoTab

I installed the new software and it recognized the reader just fine. From there is authorized ADE on the reader.

Working like a charm!
