Increase DXG refresh to reduce ghosting
Good evening. Probably there is a post about this but I've been unable to find it so first of all sorry if I'm asking something already discussed.
In order to reduce the ghosting, is there a way to reduce the number of pages you have to "turn" so the kindle dxg makes a full refresh? Thank you for your help |

Err, the DXG doesn't support anything other than doing a full screenflash each page turn (except in the browser, and possibly when panning stuff in the PDF viewer, although I may be wrong there, it's been a while since I actually used something running FW 2.5).
You can force *another* full flash by hitting ALT+G, though. The whole '6 pages and a full flash' thing was introduced in the Kindle 4. |

Thanks for your reply, NiLuJe. My kindle has been replaced (battery problems) and I think the new one (they say it's new, not refurbished) has more ghosting than the old one, specially with less light (or maybe it's just my apreciation...)
In any case I'll have to live with it :-) Thank you again (and of course for the jailbreak, the usbnetwork, and the screensavers hacks, all of them installed...) Regards |

The ghosting is sensitive to temperature, and how long it has been stored with an image on it. It can take 3 or more full refreshes after it has warmed up before the screen gets rid of all the ghosting. The ideal operating temperature for the eink display is 25C, but it can compensate for some temperature variation.
