PRS-300 Problem of PRS-300

Hi, I have got a second hand prs-300 recently and found that there is problem in the refreshing rate. When i turn to a new page, i can still see the content of previous page in blank area, e.g. current page in layer 1 and previous page in layer 2, is it the hardware problem or software problem? Anyone can help please?

Currently using prs+ 2.0.12 beta, sony version 1.0.00.24180

Try a complete shut down and reboot.

i have tried to delete all the content and hard reset, but no improve.

Hi
there is no refresh rate at an ink display. You watch the 1st page and if you go to the next,the former will be erased and the new displayed. Its could be happen that parts of the former page are still light visible, this is not a failure.
You can reproduce this very easy. Make a pdf document with a very dark sign in the middle of the page, watch this page an your reader and turn off the reader. You will see still the sign.
Again this is not a defect.

Thanks MRW, I was thought that when turn to a new page, the words, characters will become invisible or nearly invisible and new words displayed in the screen, but now the words in former page no longer in dark, but in white and I can easily identify what is it. I have see some screenshot post by others, seems don't have such problem. Maybe I try to upload a photo later which can easier to explain.

Wow. That's some pretty bad ghosting. Methinks there is something wrong with your 300.

My guess is it could be a problem with the screen controller.

Yep. I can't see it being a software issue. What you can do is call Sony and see what they will do for you. Sometimes they'll allow you to send it in for a fee and get a refurbished unit. If you find the price is too high, tell the person on the phone that it is too high given the price of the 350 and other readers. They may come down. With luck, they won't have any more 300s and you can maybe get a 350.
