Android's Law: Manufacturing Cycles Are Getting Shorter

Your new smartphone (read: tablet)? It's already a dinosaur, per Android's Law.

That's one reason I'm glad we chose Nokia smart phones. The OS doesn't upgrade very frequently, and there aren't as many cool apps built for it, so it doesn't feel outdated even though it's two years old.

Just another reason it's important with electronic purchases to like what you're getting NOW, because that's all you can be guaranteed you're going to get. I'm finally at a good place with all my gadgets (laptop, phone, tablets) where I'm content with the functionality I have. It's nice not to be preoccupied with new developments and obsolescence for at least a little while.

Thanks for your comments Sarah. Having just purchased the EE and learning its capabilities 1st hand will occupy me for a while. I guess I was hoping for the update to 2.2 which would hold me for a while. I too am tired of chasing technology and want the equipment I have, to do what I want or need them to do reliably.
