Keep your apps up to date
AppBrain http://www.appbrain.com/ has an app that syncs with the website and keeps track of which apps have an update available. I installed it on the edge, and set up the emulator (my G1 does not have enough space for all the apps I have on the edge, plus it saves time) to download updates. Works great and was pretty easy.

Thanks. Which app specifically?
Never mind. I figured it out. ![]() Last edited by pat.indie; 07-21-2010 at 09:14 PM. |

I am logged in with my gmail account. But when I try to download the appbrain market sync apk, the web page errors. Then I tried to see if I could find it else where and no luck. Any ideas?

You need to get the apk with the emulator or from an Android phone and install on the edge. It will sync with appbrain and let you know which apps have updates available. It will not install those apps since we don't have market access, but now you can again use the emulator or phone to get the update, transfer to edge and install. This is useful because developers often add new features or resolve issues. Without market we are not informed of updates in most cases. I always back up the older version first in case the new version does not work on the edge.
