Uncle.

Is there anywhere that's appropriate on the forum to seek professional help? I need these projects to be finished quickly and i'm not learning fast enough.

Don't want to violate any rules, though...

o hai.

No, no luck yet, but...

I have an epub that is working pretty well and validates fine. I need some advice for getting it available on iTunes (as an individual or a publisher?). I also need a Kindle/mobi version, which I produced using Calibre but which went a little haywire on indents, spacing and chapter navigation.

I just need someone to get this done, well, and quickly. I am flat out of available time. Would love to use the result as a template for other pubs in the series.

Any chance of that, you think? I hope?

Perhaps try asking in the Writers' Corner - though a snappier title than "uncle" might be better - such as Help!

Perhaps provide a little more detail on what you would like help with and how much work is involved etc....

Gosh, I thought "Uncle" was snappy!

If someone is interested, I will be happy to pass them the epub and the mobi and they can tell *me* how much work it will be -- I'm not the expert, or I'd be done by now...

Entreaty has been posted in Writer's Corner -- thanks for your response.

Download Kindle Previewer and drag the ePub into that. See if it gives you a better kindle/mobi version.

Hi, thanks, I've have had the Kindle Previewer installed for a while. The mobi looks bad in Calibre after the conversion and it looks the same on the Kindle. I can't get Kindle on the Mac to recognize it or sync the copy on the Kindle.

This is a pretty good illustration why I would like to hire someone -- this is simply time I just don't have.

I'm saying to use Kindle Previewer to do the conversion from ePub instead and see if it looks any better, leave Calibre out of it entirely.

Hi, I tried dragging and manually opening the epub with the Mac Kindle viewer for Mac. I can't get any sort of response at all.

Not the Kindle for Mac or Kindle 4 PC reading programs, but Kindle Previewer which is provided by Amazon as a publishing tool.

Other than that the only "professional" service I can think of would be eBook Architects...

Right, sorry -- that uses Kindlegen for the conversion, which produces a whole different set of issues. Indents no longer a problem...top margin and (some) image sizes are. I wish I had the time to hammer out these nits one by one...but I really feel like I'm going around in circles here.
