Around $130
Best Buy has the silver

So now these are $100 more in Australia than they are in America... I called the local Sony shop and they said the price isn't coming down here. I said, "I guess I should just buy it in America." His response was that

(a) the book formats in Australia might not work on an American PRS-350 (what??!), and
(b) no Australian warranty.

What do you think? Should I buy it now in America or continue saving my money for an Australian one?

I'm in Sweden. I bought mine from USA. I don't worry extensively about warranties. So far I have been lucky with everything I've bought from/in USA (dozens of things). I'm sure something will go wrong one day and I'll kick myself until I remember that my savings over the years have payed for that faulty product several times over!
That of course has to be up to everyone to make their own priorities, based on previous experiences. If you've found in the past you've had to use warranty a lot, then it would be totally understandable if you wouldn't want to forfeit it now!
As for the book format thing, that's more than likely just ignorant BS!

That price is not available through the Canadian Sony either so it must be only in the US.

(a) Bull.
(b) This is probably true however.
Due to potential warranty issues, I'd probably dither about ordering from overseas, when the hassle and cost of shipping is also taken into account. If I was visiting America though? Yes, I'd definitely snap it up there.

Maybe I should add that I have a friend in USA I can go through. Otherwise, as Viviena states there would be so much extra costs involved that the saving would often be too small to justify loosing warranty.
Having said that, I checked out the current Swedish price for the 350 and it's a whooping $290...
(Maybe you understand why I'm not overly concerned about warranty issues, considering the price difference)
