Touchscreen behaviour when charging
Hi, is it normal that the NC's touchscreen behaves pretty strange when the device is charging (original cable/charger)?
When I press somewhere it mostly works, but sometimes the NC seems to think I clicked at a completely different location. The virtual keyboard is nearly impossible to handle, when I click a letter not just one but up to 3 or 4 letters show up (usually just from the second keystroke on, the first one usually works normal, from the second on it shows different letters, not only the one I clicked). Except that the NC works fine, and as soon as I unplug the cable the touchscreen works perfect again. |

It's common, but not normal. I've read that B&N are aware of this and they usually replace the cable when brought to their attention. This applies to those who visit a store. Not sure what your course of action should be given your location. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I returned mine and got another when they had them in stock again.

So it is a problem of the cable, not of the NC itself?
Returning is not an option since I'm not in USA. Are these cables for sale? I know it is not a normal MicroUSB cable (I have enough of those), and I would not mind to have an extra one in any case... |

Most (all?) Nook Color accessories are shipped internationally. Put the charger in the B&N shopping cart and test if you are allowed to choose international shipping. If the charger is shipped internationally, I assume that B&N will be able to send you a replacement charger. Otherwise you could use an US mailforwarding address from Borderlinx or USunlocked, but shipping that way is usually quite expensive for small items like this. |

I'm afraid the charger is not 100% accurate when operated with 220V, although it says it can.
So I am not sure I should get a new one and get the same results. It#s a shame that a "normal" USB charger does not work, I have a few, none will charge the Nook. But it does not get hot or anything. |

You can charge the Nook Color with a regular USB charger, or using a PC USB port. But only when the screen is not active. When the screen is active the Nook Color uses more power than a regular USB port or USB charger can deliver. |

Thanks, geertm & all,
I contacted B&N, maybe they'll offer a solution. Last edited by WS64; 02-23-2011 at 05:01 PM. |

Perhaps you could post a message with this information on B&N 's Nook Color board, and ask one of the admins to help you. http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/...chnicalsupport |
