Kindle won't turn on

Hi.

I am trying to trouble shoot for my daughter.

I got her a Kindle for Christmas. It had been working fine. Now, however, it will not turn on or display anything other than a gray screen. Please help

trying holding the power button to the right for 15 seconds, and see what it does. Have you tried plugging it in the computer and see if it does anything?

also make certain that it is thouroughly charged

Also are you possibly using the Amazon NON-lighted case? That case can cause reboots and other problems. I've also read to hold the slider switch for 30-40 seconds. As asked, if you hook up the usb cable to a computer, do you see the kindle as a drive under Explorer?

Give it a 12 hour charge. Your battery may need to be awakened.
