Thumbs up Nook Wifi versus Kobo for Canadian customers?

I m comparing Kobo wifi with Nook Wifi in order to find out which one is suitable for Canadian customers in terms of access to worldwide bookstores and the aptitude of reading eBooks from competitors' bookstore.
By the way I live in Montreal Quebec Canada.
Which one has more functions? more easiness of use? wide range of available eBbooks?

Which one is the sturdier ?

thank you a lot.

Er, I thought the B&N Store and the Nook were U.S.-only? If so, you're probably better off considering the Kindle 3, which definitely has more functions, its keyboard makes some functions such as searching easier, and does have access to a wide range of books. Kobo WiFi isn't as feature-packed, is a tad buggy, and doesn't have the newest Pearl screens. Its store however does have Canadian-exclusive titles, I believe -- it was the first ebook vendor to stock the Giller Prize nominations.

EDIT: I should add that you don't need to have a Kobo WiFi to buy books from KoboBooks. Just need an ereader that supports EPUB.

i wasnt to impressed with the kobo to be honest, but i think the nook is USA only unless you have a USA address to use.
I would recommend a sony or pocketbook over a kobo/kindle/nook, they both use epub and are pretty easy to use.

Nook will have more functions. Kobo is very basic.

However, last I heard, B&N didn't ship Nooks outside the US, so you'd either have to make a cross-border shopping trip or have it re-shipped to you. And most of their e-book selection is officially unavailable to Canadians, so you'll have to set up your account with a US address (need not actually be yours).

I'd say that the Nook potentially has a wider range of e-books available, since it supports both B&N's own special DRM and the standard ADE-DRM.

But most of the books in the B&N store can be gotten elsewhere, usually at the same price or even cheaper, since Kobo often has discount coupons which work on most books for Canadians, circumventing the Agency 5 cross-store price-fixing that often goes on in the US and now UK stores.

Device: Kobo Aura and Kobo Mini, had a Nook, NOOKcolor, Nook STR.
I didn't really like the Kobo. I hated that I had to always use my right hand and it was super slow. I also find the Kobo store doesn't have any of the books I want to buy. They have some of the real popular ones, but lately I can't find any I want. The Kindle is nice, but you will pay an extra $2 on each book in Canada at Amazon. As you probably know, our books are always more anyway, so I guess it doesn't bother some people.

I have a Nook and I love it. When you get your Nook you can make a B&N account with any US address and hit the 'Same as Shipping' check box. Then you can buy books at B&N. I have heard they don't ship outside the US, but a lot of people use a service that allows you to ship it to a US address and they re-direct it to you. Or if you go down that way you can always pick one up (that is what I did).

This, thankfully, is no longer true, as Amazon dropped the old Whispernet surcharge for Canadian users several months ago. People overseas (outside of the UK and maybe Australia) are still stuck with it, though.

As for Kobo, their selection is admittedly lacking, but for the books they do have, the pricing often works out for the best once you factor in the discount coupons and the fact that they charge in Canadian dollars.

I picked up a slew of books for between $2.90-3.60 each including taxes using their most recent $3 off coupon. These had been on my Amazon wishlist, where they go for $5.39-$6.29 even with the "You save 20%" regular markdown.
