Hello from western Canada

I am a stranger to you folks, but I am familiar with many of you. I have been loitering in your community off and on for years.

Before Sony readers were available for Canadian use, one of
your members, Leaping Gnome, helped me out and
invited me to join MobileRead, but I felt I had nothing to contribute.

I still feel that way. It is a one-sided relationship. Last night I
laughed myself silly over the discussion by two of your members
on the subject of emoticons, and when I read the forum with
all the comments from those who had just received their kindles and were so happy, I shared their joy.

I want a kindle so badly, under any circumstance. Whispernet will probably never be a factor here, and I don't care. I am used to d/l books and transferring them via USB to a reading device. I see that bird from BC has a kindle and I am keeping my fingers crossed that he is able to get around the system.

Yeah....I just realized this was supposed to be a simple introduction.

I have had this nickname since I was a child, and I imagine you can guess why.

You can get a Kindle from Ebay. Pilot Bob knows people who have 'worked around' the system by using GC on their account but I still don't understand how, but thats just me.

the important thing is that people are using Kindles all over the world, so with a little research and help, you will be too. Enjoy the forums.
