calibre shuts down instantly on start

Today i have a new strange problem: When i start calibre, it shuts down directly after start - without any message except the normal shut-down-message (graying out the main window and showing the normal message about shutting down)
starting without plugins:
calibre --ignore-plugins
plugin Save Virtual Libraries To Column: updated column #virtuelle_bibliothek for 0 books in 0:00:00.075075
The only way to get calibre running is vial debug:

calibre is v6.3.0 on mac OS X 11.6.8

The last action before that i added some books.
So i removed the books to see what happens, but same thing

I am confused. Are you saying that running calibre normally causes it to shutdown by itself, but running it in debug mode does not? Try renaming the calibre preferences folder and see if it works. Go to preferences->Miscellaneous->Open configuration folder to find it.

Ok, renamed the calibre-preferences-folder.
I had to start calibre 3 times to get the welcome-screen, answered the questions. Calibre started, i saw an empty calibre-window and then it quits.
hmmm, thats strange...

If its not preferences then it has to be something on your system causing the shutdown. Sadly I am not a macOS user so I cant really help you debug further.

Finally its working again. Seems to be another program which disturbed calibre, but i dont know which. I will dig further.

I have the same problem. On on win10 PC, it works fine. On anotherone, it strat and shut down immediately after opening.
