Calibre soft ebook conversion

Hi, I am new here this is my first post.

I recently downloaded and installed Calibre 64bit - E-book management software (a freeware). When I convert an epub ebook in to PDF, the software also create a new epub ebook, meta data, converted PDF book etc in a folder. If I got to convert 5 ebooks then I got more non required items. That is not good for Hard drive in long run.
I wonder if, there is a way I can only convert what I want and nothing else?
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

How many time I got to enter Captcha?

Hi Nihon,

your question might be better asked in the Calibre forum, but here is what I know.

When you add a book to Calibre, it creates its own copy in a file structure that you can't mess with. Converting the book to PDF or MOBI or any other format just adds the new format to this folder.

I don't think there is a way to use Calibre to convert a book without adding it to Calibre's database first.

You can delete the original copy of the book, or consider it as a safety net in case of problems.

Not in the GUI, no. You can do it by using the command line tool ebook-convert, if you want to. That does exactly what the name implies.
