512MB RAM would be the memory for running the system software and apps. The 4-8GB would be the storage.

From all the info at
FCC website I could only find that RAM is 667 MHz LPDDR3. PCB photos are blurred. Anybody wants to deduct its size?

From the internal photos it looks like the battery will be easily replaceable.

It has combo wireless module (also found in several Chromebooks):
AW-CM389NF
Frequency: 2.4 / 5GHz
Antenna: 2x2 MIMO
Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
Bluetooth: 4.0 BLE
NFC Support
Form factor: M.2 1216

Prototype tested in June 2016 so it looks like Sony was polishing the software for a while.
