Question about 350 downloads

I posted this earlier today and now can't find the post. Sorry if you've already seen it. Here we go again:

I just purchased a 350 for the sole purpose of getting epub library books (I have a Kindle for everything else). The first book that I downloaded worked fine, with the "Do not disconnect" sign vanishing when the book was downloaded from the computer to the device. Today I downloaded two more books (at separate times). Each time the "Do not disconnect" sign stayed on for quite a while (5 minutes or more). In exasperation, I disconnected (gasp!), and the books were on the device.

What's up with this? How do I know when the book is finished downloading?

Dixiemsala, are you using the Sony Reader Library software? If so, in the left-hand column there is a category called "Status". Click on that and it will show you a screen that says you are downloading/transferring files. It has a progress bar that fills in while downloading, and then it says "Completed" when it is finished. Then you can click on the "eject" icon next to your reader device name in the left-hand column. Wait a few seconds and then your ereader screen should switch from "Do not disconnect" to "USB connected". After that disconnect the USB cable and the screen will take a moment to refresh (it's indexing the new books). Every once in awhile, I will find that the screen stays stuck on "Do not disconnect" even after it's ejected. In that case, I unplug the USB cable, and it seems to be fine. However that's a rare occurrence and not common.
