...has a promotion this weekend, of 15X points on each ebook purchase, effectively a 13% discount. Admittedly its bookstore isn't terrific and the prices skew high; otoh, it's a discount on fixed price Big Five purchases and those are harder to come by. And, of course, if you have Play Points for whatever reason, you're buying with free money.

The publishers & SP authors set Google prices high because traditionally Google would randomly re-price downwards, so the % margin would be less money.

They seem to be abysmal at selling ebooks compared to any of individually: Smashwords, Apple, Kobo, Barnes & Noble and Tolino. No point in adding Amazon to any comparison.
