Getting book read progression (Kindle4)

Hi,
So it's been a while I used calibre and now I remember why
All this is super old.

I own a Kindle 4, it still work fine,

I used to use the "fetch annotations" feature in calibre
which would feed into a python function

This in turn allowed me to have book progression in calibre
why is it useful ?

Well that's one of my 2 gripes with the Kindle 4, it's very not easy to know or show what you've read and what you've not read
most likely you 'll have to open each book individually or remember

So keeping this information in Calibre and being able to sync this directly
is for me essential

Problem is : this function doesn't work anymore
I'm not sure what broke it, I suppose I updated calibre and didn't realize it didn't work anymore...

is there newer ways to do the same ?

so .... I was mistaken apparently it works
just it doesn't fetch annotations/reading progress for AZW3 format, needs to be MOBI

If you really need to sync your reading position, get a Kobo. It works very well with calibre.
