the book cover in library is replaced

This is not a major issue, I guess. But still....
Steps:
[1]Open a library in calibre. Of course the cover of the selected book is displayed.
[2]Connect e-reader (in my case Kobo Glow).
[3]The cover of the selected book is replaced by the book-cover on the device. The image in the metadata is not affected.

To make things worse, this does NOT happen every time I connect my device. But the cover image of the selected book DOES open and close every time.

I run calibre 8.8 on Windows 11 version 23H2.

Yes, this does happen sometimes, it's harmless and has always been more trouble to track down than its worth, at least to me.

The cover getting re-rendered is supposed to happen, that is because the metadata in the book details panel can get updated when the device is connected so it is essentially refreshed. However, sometimes the cover ends up as the cover from the on device copy of the book, it's basically a timing issue in the race between the book details being refreshed and the device scan being completed.
