[Edit metadata] Possible to adjust size of input fields?
Is there any way to change the size of the input fields in the Basic metadata edit screen?
A lot of my book titles don't fit inside the "Title:" field, and scrolling inside the field is rather inconvenient when editing the title. (For example, instead of Title/ Title sort/ Files each taking up 1/3 of the width, I'd rather have 1/2 1/4 1/4.) |

No, it will take up approximately 1/3 of the window width. You can of course make the window wider assuming your screen is large enough.

I already made the window as wide as the screen and the font as small as I can comfortably read it, but many titles still don't fit inside this rather narrow field (many books have rather long subtitles that I like to have included).
But anway, thanks for your quick response and for making this great software available to the world! |

Try the "Compact metadata" setting in Preferences / Look & feel / Edit Metadata Edit metadata (single) layout. It uses two columns for basic and custom metadata.

Thanks for the tip. This put the cover on a separate tab, which didn't work for me because I'm using the covers to fill in missing titles (and adding covers where missing).
'All on 1 tab' also makes the Title field larger, but puts the cover on the far right side of the screen from where it is a bit cumbersome to copy down the information. |

It may not work for you unless you have more than 1 screen.
![]() If you double click the format, it opens the book in 'Viewer'. This is where I simply find the data: Copy and Paste it where it goes in the MDE. Many times the books included blurb is better than Get Metadata sources |
