Odd. I installed KOReader/Plato on a friend's Clara Colour running 4.42.23296 and after updating KOReader, it worked.

My procedure was to

1. Download the install.ps1 script, the OCP package for KOReader/Plato, the uninstaller for KFMon and the latest KOReader Nightly build for Kobo (the link is to the latest nightly when I was writing this message).
2. Use the install.ps1 script to install the OCP package, safely eject and wait for the install to finish.
3. Copy the KFMon uninstaller's KoboRoot.tgz to the .kobo directory on your Kobo and safely eject. Again wait for the install to finish.
4. In the .adds/nm directory, edit the koreader and plato files to remove all but the last two lines. On the last line remove the # to uncomment the last line.
5. Unzip the nightly .zip file and copy the koreader directory to the .adds directory on your Kobo. When prompted, overwrite all files.
6. When prompted, safely eject your Kobo and then reboot it (if you have that configured in NickelMenu, that's the easiest way.

The lines in the koreader and plato files should look like the following. Alternatively, you can copy the lines to your NickelMenu config file and delete the koreader, plato and kfmon files from the .adds/nm directory.

After searching the internet, I found that I have Clara BW version P365 on which various jailbreaks and KoReader do not work.

Don't believe what GoodeReader states. That's total B/S.

Now the P365 I *doubt* can use any of the f/w versions listed by PGaskin as being on the original Clara BW (the model N365).

I believe you'll find that KoReader needs an update to identify the Clara BW (P365) model. There looks to be code present within koreader/frontend/device/kobo/device.lua that retrieves the devices codename from either the environment or /bin/kobo_config.sh and the product id from either the environment or /mnt/onboard/.kobo/version.

More than likely these will need to be updated. I'd suggest taking this discussion to either the KOReader forum or opening a bug report.

The jailbreaksmods not working is probably related to their using either FBInk or KoboUSBMS mods which the author niluje will update soon.

Unfortunately I have to believe this. On my Clara BW P365 I can't run KoReader or install a patch modified for FW 4.42.

What patch? I couldn't find any posts from you mentioning problems installing patches.

I didn't write such posts. In patches I changed FW version numbers to higher ones. But it worked on my previous Clara BW N365.

Well it's quite likely that the offsets need to be updated. Could you at least say what patches you want to use so that someone could take a look?

After testing I have determined that Clara BW P365 with software 4.42 does not support KoReader, but Clara BW N365 with 4.42 supports KoReader. I am returning the P365 to the store.

I believe a much fairer statement is that KoReader does NOT support the P365.
