It did. First first: Delete that azw2 files from "documents" folder on your Kindle.
Second: Then take "Update_KUALBooklet_XXXXX_install.bin" file from the archive you downloaded from NiLuJe's Snapshots thread and copy it to "mrpackages" folder > eject from computer > install it by using ;log mrpi. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=225030 I just can't recall the information from which firmware users should use "KUAL (coplate)" installers instead of regular, older version. It's been more than a decade since I sold my PW1. |

Hello,
New user here; I have this issue too. My Kindle was unlocked years ago; today I tried to use it, and got the error mentioned in the thread. I've installed the update "Update_mkk-20250419-k5-ALL_keystore-install.bin"; the only one that did activate the kindle update menu, and since then I have a different error message: > This item is not signed by an authorized developer. Please contact the developer Does anyone have an idea how I can troubleshoot it? |

Do the same thing @Kindleschokolade : replace KUAL kindlet with KUAL booklet version.
Honestly, I don't understated why anyone besides Kindle 2, Kindle 3 and Kindle 4 owners keep using that azw2 ( = kindlet) version of KUAL when they don't have to. |

I've downloaded KUAL-v2.7.37-gfcb45b5-20250419.tar.xz , but none of the install.bin files are recognized as updates. |

I've also created the mrpackages folder, dropped a install.bin file, and executed ;log mrpi, but nothing seems to happen

Accurately speaking well we should always use the document: xxx.kual like xxx can be anything **Yes if you by mistake delete kual booklet then you can just go to notepad create a empty txt file and rename it to kualorsmth.kual** premises we are on latest kual version
Don't forget to put it into documents folder* |
